Lipscomb holds lead for ASUN Bill Bibb All-Sports Trophy following fall championships

ATLANTA, Ga. - For the seventh-straight year, Lipscomb University leads the ASUN Conference All-Sports standings in the race for the Bill Bibb Trophy after the conclusion of the conference fall seasons. A dominating open to the 2019-20 season, the Bisons claimed the Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships as well as the Women’s Soccer regular season trophy, while tying for third in Volleyball and finishing sixth in Men’s Soccer.

Overall the Purple and Gold have amassed 108-of-129 possible points for a percentage of 83.72. Liberty and Florida Gulf Coast are tied for second with 94.5 points (73.26%).

Lipscomb sits tied with FGCU for the Jesse Fletcher Trophy (Men's All-Sports) after each school earned 36 out of a possible 48 total points (75.00%). The Eagles finished second on the men’s soccer league table and fourth at the men’s cross country championship as the host.

For the Sherman Day Trophy (Women's All-Sports), Lipscomb leads Liberty by just over nine percentage points following the conclusion of the fall seasons after bringing home 72 of a possible 81 total points (88.89%). The Flames sit at 79.63% with 64.5 points behind a second-place finish in women’s cross country and third-place finishes in both women’s soccer and volleyball.

Note: Points are awarded on a descending basis in three-point increments. A minimum of 50% of the full ASUN membership must participate in a sport for that sport to be counted in the all-sports standings. Championship points available based on number of teams (teams x 3 pts) participating in each sport. Team sport points are awarded based on regular season finish. Individual sports (cross country, golf, track & field) points are awarded based on the ASUN Championship results. Ties split points. All sports standings are based on percentage. Each institution's percentage is based on sport participation and performance - school points earned divided by total possible points available to that institution.

Only five of the 19 ASUN Conference titles have been awarded for the 2019-20 season with the next conference championship being the Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship on Feb. 28-29 in Lynchburg, Va. at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
