TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Brent Leber became the first Bison to ever run in the NCAA Division I Cross Country National Championship on Saturday morning, as he raced through the cold and rain at the LaVern Gibson Course in Terre Haute, Indiana.

The redshirt-sophomore placed 161 out of 252 runners from across the country, finishing with a time of 32:28.2 in the 10k race. 

Just the fourth men’s cross country runner to represent the ASUN on the biggest stage in the last 10 seasons, Leber was the only runner to earn a bid for the conference this fall.

The Maryville native closes out his Bisons cross country career as one of the most decorated runners in school history, which includes taking home the rare double of the ASUN Runner and Scholar-Athlete of the Year this season. 

Leber will be back in the Purple and Gold in the spring for the 2020 indoor and outdoor track and field campaigns.
