KANSAS CITY - Lipscomb’s Courtney Brenner and Brent Leber were named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Cross Country/Track and Field Teams on Friday.

The pair were voted onto the District 3 team which represents Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Brenner earned a spot on the squad after compiling a perfect 4.0 GPA as a Dietetics major. After sitting out the cross country season in the fall, Brenner turned in a dominant indoor track campaign.

The senior was named theASUN Indoor Championship Most Valuable Performer for the second year in a row after taking home her third consecutive 5000m title and her second 3000m championship in a row compiling the most points for a female competitor. She was also named the ASUN Indoor Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Leber earned a 3.96 GPA as a dual major in Biology and Health. For his exploits on and off the track, he was named the overall ASUN Male Student-Athlete of the Year and the Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Leber’s year on the track was historic. He won the ASUN Runner of the Year and was an All-South Region finisher on the way to becoming the first-ever National Championship finalist in program history. He followed this up by breaking the ASUN record and winning the title in the 3000m at the ASUN Indoor Track and Field Championships.
