Three Lipscomb track and field athletes were named to the Capitol One Academic All-District First Team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday.

Lipscomb track and field runners Tucker Peabody and Kenny Smith were named to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic Team, announced Wednesday.

Three Lipscomb track and field athletes qualified to compete in the East Preliminary Round of the NCAA Track and Field Championships hosted next week by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida.

As the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships came to a close Saturday, the Lipscomb track and field squads achieved mixed results.

The Lipscomb track and field squads hit the halfway point at the Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships, closing out the day with solid performances.

For months the Lipscomb track and field squads have been preparing for this competition. The teams will put their best foot forward as they compete in the 2014 Atlantic Sun Outdoor Championships Friday and Saturday.
